MYLO Community Awards: Voting Rules & Eligibility
Last Updated: May 19, 2025
Welcome to the MYLO Community Awards! We're excited to celebrate the best local businesses with your help. To ensure a fair and transparent process, please review the following rules and eligibility criteria before participating in nominations or voting.
1. Eligibility for Nomination
- Businesses must have a physical presence or primarily serve the local areas covered by MYLO.
- Businesses must have an active and verified listing on the MYLO platform at the time of nomination and voting.
- National chains are generally not eligible unless the specific local franchise demonstrates exceptional community involvement and unique local character. This will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the MYLO Awards committee.
- Businesses owned or operated by MYLO employees or their immediate family members are not eligible for nomination.
- Businesses must comply with all MYLO Terms of Service.
2. Nomination Process
- The nomination period will be announced on the MYLO platform and via our communication channels (e.g., newsletter, social media). Typically, this is from August 1st to August 31st.
- Any registered MYLO user can nominate a business for any relevant award category.
- Businesses can also nominate themselves.
- Each user may nominate a specific business for a maximum of two (2) award categories.
- Nominations must be submitted through the official MYLO Awards nomination form on our website during the open nomination period.
- All nominations will be reviewed by the MYLO Awards committee to ensure eligibility and appropriateness for the selected category. MYLO reserves the right to re-categorize or disqualify nominations that do not meet the criteria.
3. Voting Process
- The public voting period will be announced after the nomination review process. Typically, this is from September 15th to October 15th.
- Voting is open to all registered MYLO users.
- Each registered user may cast one (1) vote per award category.
- Votes must be cast through the official MYLO Awards voting page on our website.
- Any attempts to manipulate the voting process, including but not limited to, creating multiple accounts for voting, using automated scripts or bots, or offering incentives for votes, will result in disqualification of the votes and potentially the nominated business.
4. Winner Selection & Announcement
- The business with the highest number of valid votes in each category at the close of the voting period will be declared the winner for that category.
- In the event of a tie, the MYLO Awards committee may consider factors such as the quality of nominations, overall community engagement on the MYLO platform, and customer reviews to determine a winner, or may declare joint winners.
- Winners will be announced on the MYLO platform and via our communication channels in early November (exact date to be announced).
- Winning businesses will receive a MYLO Award badge on their listing profile and other promotional recognition as determined by MYLO.
5. General Conditions
